Now a days people are looking something extra from notebooks. These people want to have a device having all features of desktop including great specification apart from mobility. As XPS M1710 is a gaming notebook, it has the highest performing components available for suiting the requirements of high-end games. This notebook is available in two different colors, “Formula Red” or “Metallic black”. Dell has fixed the weight of this notebook to 8.8 Lbs. It has a battery which having 9 cells. Also, it is positioned in the very front area of the notebook. One of the great feature of this is that you can push it on to light up 5 green LEDs to know much charging is left. This feature will work even if the notebook is switched off.. I am pretty excited with this feature.
One of the unique feature is that unlike other notebooks, the keyboard keys of Dell XPS M1710 are not black. Instead the color is silver color which infact matches the case color.The touchpad is adequate in space to the XPS lighting, but the most important thing is that it has good size and works well with scroll zones on the right side for vertical scroll and on the bottom for horizontal scroll. It has an integrated sub-woofer which provides decent bass. Good for music lovers like me right..
A very cool feature of this notebook: Dell XPS M1710 is that it has Media Direct functionality through which we can load up our machne very quickly. through this we can play music, watch DVDs or even view pictures. To enable this, there is a "Media Direct" button on the front. You just have to click on that. Dell XPS M1710 comes with 6 USB ports. Apart from that, it has VGA out, DVI and S-Video out for video connectivity. It has a 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX graphics card to enable high end graphics games. It has a wide screen of 17 inches. The notebook has a native resolution of 1920*1200. It has a True life feature for display which enables the notebooks to display higher contrast, brightness and colors. It also supports in playing games.
Intel's Duo processor T2600 is the heart of this notebook. The speed of the processor is 2.16 GHz having a 2 MB cache. Also the processor supports a 2 GB DDR2 RAM which can be extended to 4 GBs. XPS M1710 notebook has a 120 GB SATA hard disk having 7200 rpm. Also it has a 3945 wireless card supporting a, b and g brands which means connectivity from even a longer distance as well. Advantages: This notebook has an excellent 3D performance which I must say is fantastic for gaming or high-end 3D tasks. Also,it has an eye catching looks, especially the lights, screen and the colors with a sturdy and great keyboard.
Disadvantages: It has some problems in the Wireless connectivity.
