Minoru 3D is the first webcam which allows recording videos in 3D. Minoru 3D prototype was demonstrated several months ago and is expected with great interest. The camera will be officially demonstrated at CES in Las Vegas in a few days and it can be already ordered.
Designed by English designer David Holder, Minoru 3D has two lenses, spaced like human eyes. This makes it possible to “see” stereoscopy, not flat like a simple camera - Minoru in Japanese means a reality, so it will be seen in real 3D images. For to view images in 3D it will require special glasses.
Camera has moving legs, it can sit or stand on a desk or be mounted on a monitor. You can use it for instant messaging, video recording and also used as an ordinary “flat” webcam.
Minoru 3D record in resolutions: 800 × 600, 640 x 480 (VGA), 352 x 288, 320 × 240, at a speed of 30 fps. The webcam cost only 90 dollars with included pairs of special glasses.
